43rd Scientific Research Conference of Latvian Students

On the 12th and 13th of April this year, the Riga Technical University (RTU) hosted the 43rd Scientific Research Conference of Latvian Students, with 387 of the best works developed by 458 pupils. Four of the projects were developed at the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre. During the conference, they received high ratings - II and III:

1) Sigita Skrastiņa, 11th grade pupil of Riga State Secondary School “Impact of increased use of sour milk products on the composition of microbioma of human intestine” (II stage);
2) Daņiils Smirnovs, a pupil of the 11th grade of Riga Rīnūži Secondary School “Investigation of the intestinal microbioma of patients with type 2 diabetes before the start of antidiabetic therapy” (II stage);
3) Nikola Brauča, a pupil of the 11th grade at Riga Secondary School No. 72 “Influence of temperature on infectivity of the newly released T4-shaped bacteriophage” (Grade II);
4) Miks Priedols, 11th grade pupil of Liepaja Rainis Secondary School No.6 “Modification of extracellular vesicles for the development of new anticancer therapy” (Grade III).


Works were supervised by BMC scientists: MSc.biol., Ilze Elbere, Nikita Zrelovs, Dr. biol., Artūrs Ābols.
