Support for the integration of the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre into the European Research Area and Infrastructure objects

Project Title:Support for the integration of the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre into the European Research Area and Infrastructure objects”

Funding:  European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Measure 1.1.1.5 “Support for International Cooperation Projects in Research and Innovation

Project Nr.: 1.1.1.5/18/I/006

Period: 54 months (1st July 2018 – 31st December 2022)

Project costs: 447 613,33 EUR

Principle Investigator: Dr. biol. Aija Linē

The aim of the project is to promote the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre participation in the implementation of the European Research Area cooperation projects, preparing at least 19 high quality cooperation project applications as well as involvement in the two infrastructures: the Biobanking and Bimolecular Resources Research Infrastructure – European Research Infrastructure Consortium  (BBMRI-ERIC) and European Structural Biology Integrated Infrastructure Consortium (INSCTRUCT).

Participation in the European Union (EU) Research and Innovation support program Horizon 2020 is an essential precondition for promoting science excellence, to promote international competitiveness, and strengthening the competitiveness of innovation-based industries. Therefore, the involvement of Horizon 2020 and other international research and innovation programs has been identified as one of the priorities of the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre (BMC) Development Strategy 2015-2020.
