Yesterday, on May 14, during an open session of the University of Latvia Promotion Council for Biological Sciences, Agne Namiņa successfully defended her doctoral thesis: “Tick-borne pathogens in dogs: novel molecular strategies for their detection and characterization.” Following the defence, the author was awarded a Doctor of Science (Ph.D.) degree in Natural Sciences.
Significance and Contribution of the Study:
- Diagnostic Innovation: Development of new molecular approaches for the detection of tick-borne pathogens.
- Advancements in Veterinary Medicine: Improved methods that allow for faster and more accurate identification of infectious diseases in dogs.
- Scientific Foundation: Comprehensive analysis of pathogen prevalence and genetic diversity.
The results of this study represent a significant step forward in animal health surveillance, disease prevention, and the improvement of treatment protocols.
