Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre (LBMC) is a state research institute engaged in both fundamental and translational research in various areas of biomedicine:

Currently 10 research groups are doing their research at BMC and offer highly qualified academic staff, friendly environment and world-class research facilities provide excellent opportunities for undergraduate training for national and PhD training for national and international students.

From year to year, about 50 students from University of Latvia (faculties of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics) as well Riga`s Stradinu university (faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy), are carrying out their bachelor, master and PhD projects under supervision of our researchers, including presentation of their results into group seminars.

Due to BMC high academic standards, our students frequently are awarded with scholarships from University of Latvia, Latvian Science Council, European Social Fund.
