RESEARCH AND EDUCATION IN BIOMEDICINE FROM GENES TO HUMAN

BioPhoT invites you to an analytical webinar on the results of the second call’s industry expert panel, project performance evaluation and key insights on the path to market for research ideas. The seminar will take place on 24 February at 14.00 at the Science and Innovation Centre of Riga Technical University (RTU), Moon Hall. The panel will include industry experts Tamar Raz and Daniel Carew. Registration for the event is open until 23 February.

The workshop is expected to provide an in-depth look back at the BioPhoT Call 2 Industry Panel, where teams of scientists received direct, market-oriented feedback from international experts.

The aim of the event is to analyse the performance of applications, identify common strengths and weaknesses, and provide practical advice for researchers working on the further development and commercialisation of their ideas.

The workshop is especially aimed at BioPhoT Call 2 applicants, project mentors and researchers planning to participate in future calls, as well as anyone interested in the commercialisation of science and collaboration with industry.

About the Industry Panel Experts

Dr Tamar Raz is a life sciences and medical innovation expert with more than 20 years of experience in technology transfer, business development and commercialisation of medical innovations. She has previously led Hadasit – Hadassah Medical Organisation Technology Transfer Company, worked at Tel Aviv University Technology Transfer Company Ramot and founded a biomedical start-up. Dr Raz’s day-to-day work includes early-stage biomedical project development, academia-industry partnerships and investor attraction.

Dr Daniel Carew Ph.D. in Nanotechnology and Materials Chemistry; B.Sc. in Applied Science and Engineering; early stage investor and board member in deep tech and defence start-ups. He has over 10 years of experience in investing in breakthrough technologies critical to defence and national security and several of his investments have become “unicorns”. He has helped turn breakthroughs into products and visions for the future.
