Last month, BlueRemediomics partners came together for three days in the Latvian capital to present updates and discuss the project’s progress and challenges.
Hosted by the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre (LMBC), project partners met from 14 to 16 April 2025 in beautiful Riga, the Latvian capital which has stunning Art Nouveau architecture and delicious food. On the first day a workshop was held on MGnify, a microbiome data and analysis resource that provides a systematic analysis on metagenomics developed by EMBL. It was a great opportunity for partners to receive training on how to navigate this incredibly useful database, a key output from the project.
The next two days of the General Assembly provided an opportunity for partners to collaborate through engaging presentations and lively discussions from each of the seven Work Packages, allowing everyone to explore both the challenges and successes from the project so far. Some highlights included a new version of a marine catalogue generated on MGnify and the organisation of a workshop on BBNJ in Aberdeen from 21-22 July 2025 (more information coming soon).
