RESEARCH AND EDUCATION IN BIOMEDICINE FROM GENES TO HUMAN

On 26 January 2026, the BioPhoT Industry Day will take place at the Science House of the Academic Centre of the University of Latvia (UL) in Riga, Jelgavas iela 3. It will be an opportunity to meet professionals in the field and to learn about current BioPhoT research, solutions and collaboration opportunities. To participate in the event, industry companies are invited to submit their challenges by 30 December in a special section of the BioPhoT website – Industry Challenge. Find out more about the initiative and the benefits of participation in thematic webinars on 11 December.

“The aim of the BioPhoT Industry Day is to foster closer cooperation between science and industry, strengthening the biomedical, medical technology, pharmaceutical, photonics, smart materials, technologies and engineering systems sectors, creating a favourable environment for the development of new collaborative projects, technological solutions and innovative ideas.

The event will bring together companies, scientific institutions and public sector experts to foster closer collaboration between science and industry, to present current BioPhoT projects and new ideas that may be eligible for BioPhoT funding, and to discuss practical models for collaboration. Thematic working sessions will highlight current challenges and research opportunities in the sectors.

The event is free for everyone, registration is free: https://luma.com/i81hmsl0

For industry partners, this is an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into BioPhoT’s research and innovation portfolio and identify areas of highest added value for collaboration:

“BioPhoT” Industry Challenge is an initiative that invites companies to submit specific industry-related technological challenges requiring specialised research, laboratory infrastructure or high-level scientific expertise. Selected challenges will be presented in thematic working sessions on Industry Day, allowing companies to present their needs directly to researchers and build targeted collaborations.
