Today, on March 13, the Long-Term National Research Program project “Biomedical and Photonics Research Platform for the Creation of Innovative Products” – “BioPhoT” Mentor Day took place at the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre.
One of the platform’s mentors, Andris Baumanis, gave a presentation on the BioPhoT platform, emphasizing its practical aspects. He explained what is expected from scientists when applying and developing their ideas through platform projects, what the main achievable results are, and the timeline for project applications.
The mentor’s role in the project application process was also clarified, along with how ideas will be further directed to Pitch sessions, where they will be evaluated by a panel of industry experts.
Scientists were provided with information on the methodology used to assess each project idea at the initial, mid-term, and final stages to evaluate the TRL level at each phase.
In conclusion, scientists took the opportunity to ask questions of interest and clarify any uncertainties.
The event took place within the framework of the Long-Term National Research Program project “Biomedical and Photonics Research Platform for the Development of Innovative Products (BioPhoT)” No. IVPP-EM-Inovācija-2024/1-0002.
